Mega Medical Camp (December 2007)
Three-day FREE medical camp for individuals in Tralsa and surrounding remote villages was held in December 2007. Asmita Vikas Kendra’s staff and trustees partnered and collaborated with a diverse specialties group of about 21 doctors over the three days, varying in specialties, from Bharuch, Vadodara and the USA. Services provided included basic tests (i.e. diabetes, blood chemistry, Hemoglobin & more), x-rays, basic medicines, and other specialty services, as needed. Over the three days, about 1600 patients were seen. In addition, Asmita Vikas Kendra partnered with a local organization, SEWA Rural Hospital of Jhagadia to offer attendees the opportunity to partake in a thorough eye exam and cataract removal. Over 800 people took advantage of these services, over 200 people got FREE glasses & around 60 patient’s cataracts were removed successfully.Internal Medicine, Cardiac, pulmonary, ENT, Gynecologist, Ophthalmologist/optometric & more With help of Banker’s Heart of Vadodara, we examined over 56 patients for their full cardio vascular test. All the tests were performed & full diagnosis were done.Over 30 young volunteer from Tralsa gave volunteer services to co-ordinate the whole event.
We are planning to have such a medical camp in different remote areas of Bharuch district on regular basis. We need committed volunteers & physicians to organize these medical camps. Also we are urging to various industries in our area to provide their CSR funding for this noble cause of preventive health approach.
